IZZY GULLETT: We wondered if younger students set New Year’s resolutions, so we talked to students of the Nixa High School about their New Year’s resolutions for the upcoming year.

EMMA DIXON: Freshman Isabelle Whitten is unsure of her New Year’s resolution, but has one in mind.

IZZY GULLETT: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?

ISABELLE WHITTEN: To work out more.

IZZY GULLETT: Gavin Mayes has a more humorous goal for this next year.

What is your New Year’s resolution?

GAVIN MAYES: Become a Mafia boss.

IZZY GOULET: How do you think you’ll meet this goal?

GAVIN MAYES: Run the streets.

EMMA DIXON: What’s your motivation?

GAVIN MAYES: My mind.

EMMA DIXON: What do you think the outcome of this goal is?

– Chase is so lucky [INAUDIBLE].

GAVIN MAYES: Victory.

IZZY GULLETT: Something that will help your future self?

GAVIN MAYES: Probably.

EMMA DIXON: Freshman Dina Bardadin hasn’t thought about what’s to come next year. Do you have any New Year’s resolutions for 2023?

DINA BARDADIN: Um, no.

EMMA DIXON: Why?

GAVIN MAYES: Yeah.

EMMA DIXON: Just love life?

DINA BARDADIN: Oh, no.

EMMA DIXON: No. No.

IZZY GULLETT: Addison Bobby plans on increasing her volleyball abilities in 2023.

EMMA DIXON: Do you have any New Year’s resolutions?

ADDISON BOBBY: Yes.

EMMA DIXON: What is it?

ADDISON BOBBY: Increase my vertical jump.

EMMA DIXON: That’s good. Why do you want to increase your vertical?

ADDISON BOBBY: Because Coach Eck made fun of it

EMMA DIXON: OK! Thank you. Freshman Joslyn Barnes wants to focus on her love life in the next year. Do you have any New Year’s resolution for 2023?

JOSLYN BARNES: Get this curly head a boyfriend.
