NOELLE ANTONELLI: And Noelle Antonelli with EagleAir. Today, we will be covering the winter sports preview featuring Nixa Lady Eagles Basketball with senior Sadie Conway and head coach Jenny Talbert.

– What is something you have to do before each game?

– I always drink an energy drink. And we always listen to music and get hype in the locker room. I’m looking forward to playing basketball last year here and going as far as we can.

– What is something that you want to progress in this season?

– I think like stepping up in my leadership role and just winning more games than we did last year. I want to win the Pink and White, the NIT, and districts, November 21, and then our jamboree is November 15.

– What’s your favorite thing about this team so far?

– I think that I like the friendship that we all have within each other, like we’re teammates, but we’re also like all best friends.

NOELLE ANTONELLI: Both Sadie Conway and Coach Talbert have high expectations for this team.

JORDAN PHILLIPS: Coach Talbert expresses her goals for this season.

[AUDIO PLAYBACK]

– This is my 14th year as a head coach, but I have been coaching for 18 years. For this season, obviously, I want us to just be one of the hardest working teams on the court. And then hopefully, as the season goes on, we continue to get better and better. And by February, we’re playing some of our best basketball.

I think just pushing each other at practice, holding the girls accountable, putting them in situations at practice that will be game-like, we’ll give them that experience as they head into those tough games that we have on our schedule.
