Summer is approaching and many people are excited to get out in the sun and have fun. Here are four places to visit during the summer.
1. Neal and Betty Grubaugh Pool
The first place I recommend going during the summer is the Neal and Betty Grubaugh Pool. This pool is a great family-friendly place to go to hang out during the summer. Whether you want to lounge in the sun or prefer to relax in the shade there are many places to sit. The pool has a diving board, a blue twisty water slide, and plenty of space for older kids and adults to swim.
The pool has multiple options for babies and children to swim too. For example, the pool has a mini gray slide and a roped-off area that has floaty toys. There is also a splash pad that is equipped with water guns, a fake snake that sprays water out of its mouth, and many other fun spray spots.
Whether you want a small snack like candy or chips or want to grab lunch The Neal and Betty Grubagh Pool snack shack has a variety of drinks, sweets, and salty snacks that you can enjoy during your day at the pool.
The pool’s 2024 season is from May 24th through August 18th. During this season, the pool is open from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday through Saturday. More information on the Neal and Betty Grubagh Pool can be found on the city of Ozark website.
2. Sno Ballz
From Tigers Blood to Haupia, Sno Ballz Shaved Ice has a variety of icy sweets to satisfy your sweet tooth and cool you off on a hot summer day. Sno Ballz Shaved Ice is an authentic Hawaiian shaved ice family-owned company based in Ozark. The atmosphere of Sno Ballz is fun and reminds me of sunshine, sweetness, and lightheartedness making it a perfect place to hang out with friends and family.
Whenever you walk up to the turquoise blue stand you can choose the shaved ice or ice cream flavor you prefer.
While you wait for your shaved ice or ice cream to be made you can play any of the yard games that are set out for your enjoyment. Sno Ballz has badminton, giant connect four, jump ropes, tetherball, and more.
After your dessert is made you can sit down at any of the brightly colored picnic tables to sit and enjoy your summer treat. If you want to try a Sno Ballz shaved ice or ice cream their information can be found on their website, letsgetsticky.com, or on Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.
3. Finley Farms
The rustic and cozy summer style of Finley Farms makes it a perfect place to visit if you are bored this summer.
There are multiple places you can visit at Finley Farms including the Ozark Mill Restaurant and Bar, the Workshop, the Riverside Bridge, the Chapel, and many walking paths through rows of flowers and plants.
The Ozark Mill Restaurant and Bar is an old mill that was rebuilt as a restaurant. The restaurant serves lunch and dinner and has a wide variety of choices on the menu. The Mill also has a history tour, a general store, and multiple event spaces.
The Workshop is a flipped 1930s industrial garage that during the summer serves as a bright and open space to get together with friends and family. The Workshop serves multiple coffees, pastries, and cocktails. Including spring season offerings like a rosemary latte and strawberry patch iced tea.
If you want to go for a walk, Finley Farms is a beautiful place to go. You can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Finley River from the Riverside Bridge, walk further down, and check out the Chaple, an open-air event venue. My favorite part of Finley Farms is the garden spaces filled with gorgeous flowers. I love to grab a lemonade at the Workshop and walk around the gardens with my friends. Information on visiting Finley Farms can be found on their website, finleyfarmsmo.com.
