Throughout the fall semester at Missouri State University (MSU), students have shown their dedication in many different ways, including sports, clubs, academics and even military service the commitment shown by the students contributes to the vibrant energy on and off the campus.
In the athletic department, Junior Cornerback starter for the football team Lemondre Joe showed his dedication in the hours he put into practice.
“We have individual drills to start with, then we go to special drill,” Joe said. “It honestly depends on the day, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are [the team’s] hardest days, with technical sound and details we put into the game.”
Disregarding the school some students show their dedication before they get to college. Senior Jarred Lemler enlisted into the military before he decided to become a college student.
“My parents were both in the military, I grew up with my dad and he was kind of hard growing up so I pushed a lot of effort to stay in [the military]”
Students around the campus show their dedication in their ways whether that be in academics or something that means something to them outside of school.
Groups on campus were also showing their dedication through their fraternity, senior Maxwell Grimes and sophomore Mitchell Stehno raising money for the Harmony House in Springfield.
“Fundraising is a big part of Delta Sigma Phi, Better men better lives is our motto for our frat so fundraising is a good way to show that to our communities,” Grimes said.
The examples of commitment and hard work displayed by students during the fall semester at MSU were evident in every corner of the campus, showcasing the determination that defined the students’ success.
