Hello everyone. This is Vanessa Lowry
Speaker 2:
And Hannah McKinney with EagleAir TV.
Speaker 1:
Today, we are revealing the inside thoughts of many Nixa high schoolers about the question, should you decorate for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving? This question is a very controversial topic throughout Nixa High School, which we’ll debunk for you. Today
Speaker 2:
We will be interviewing Senior Coy Plein, junior Ronnie Lowry, sophomore Alexander Snow and Freshman Kaydence Whittaker.
Speaker 3:
Not really my choice, but I would choose after, but my family always does before, so I just kind of go with it.
Speaker 2:
Sophomore Alexander Snow
Speaker 3:
Before Thanksgiving, because you got to get in that holiday spirit.
Speaker 2:
Junior, Ronnie Lowy.
Speaker 4:
Yes. This is something I’ve thought a lot and I’ve come to the conclusion philosophically, that it is morally contemptuous and wholly unjustified to decorate before Christmas, that time period. The reason being is that our society is held together. Society is held together by the fundamental framework known as tradition, and really you can think of it conceptually, that all human interaction is fundamentally held up by certain mutually agreed upon principles, such as the principles of logic, the principles of fair communication. Thus, if a rejection of the idea that we should decorate for Christmas after Thanksgiving is a step and a gateway towards the complete rejection of all the common principles, which mutually bind us together as human beings. Therefore, decorating before Thanksgiving is tantamount to the destruction of mankind.
Speaker 2:
And freshman Kaydence Whittaker
Speaker 5:
After.
Speaker 2:
And why?
Speaker 5:
Because Thanksgiving hasn’t happened yet, so you got to decorate for fall and things.
Speaker 1:
Secondly, we have Senior Coy Plein answering the question, does decorating early help you enjoy the holiday season more, or does it make it feel rushed during it early?
Speaker 3:
Definitely makes me feel more involved in the holiday, and I definitely feel like I’m like, oh wait, this is Christmas time and I have to actually enjoy it while it’s here. So yes, early
Speaker 2:
Next we have Alexander Snow. Answer the question, would the Turkey feel offended if it had to share the table with Christmas decorations?
Speaker 3:
It would feel offended because the Turkey has its own holiday and it shouldn’t be rushed with Christmas decoration.
Speaker 1:
Lastly, we have freshmen Cadence Whitaker. To answer the question, can Christmas music and decorations coexist with Thanksgiving traditions like tricky dinners? No.
Speaker 5:
Like I said,
Speaker 1:
Thanksgiving
Speaker 5 :
Is its own holiday, so we got to wait on Christmas.
Speaker 2:
Thanks for tuning in to see us unfold. What some students at Nixa High School have to say about decorating for Christmas before or after Thanksgiving. This is Hannah McKinney and Vanessa Lowry with EagleAir signing off.
