Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Caroline Hoesch and Emma Patterson with EagleAir Radio.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
Stay tuned to see what we talk about today.
Speaker 1 (00:05):
In today’s topic, we’ll be discussing some students at Nixa High School’s, unique hobbies.
Speaker 2 (00:13):
We interviewed Charli Sobieralski about FFA, fellow Farmers of America.
Speaker 3 (00:18):
It’s a year long thing. We have a lot of older students participate more in the summer activities, and we’re trying to get more freshmen to come during the summer, but you don’t have to go to all of the events.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
Can you describe what you do in FFA?
Speaker 3 (00:35):
In FFA? We do a lot of community work. We do a lot of community service. This summer we did a food security day, which was at the state fair, and we packaged food for those who can’t purchase their own food. And we packaged meals. We also do a lot of advocating for agriculture, and that includes talking about farmers and their mental health and the struggles it takes to put food on your table, and just supporting those who support us.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
Is there anything else you think that people should know about
Speaker 3 (01:14):
F-F-A is for everyone. Everyone’s just like, oh, you have to have an agriculture background to be an FFA. And I don’t live on a farm. I don’t have farm animals, but I’m still in FFA.
Speaker 2 (01:25):
We also asked Charli what other activities she participates in during her free time.
Speaker 3 (01:30):
I do my own nails. I crochet, I do dance.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
How did you get into doing your own nails?
Speaker 3 (01:40):
I just didn’t want to have to pay a hundred dollars to get my nails done every month.
Speaker 1 (01:45):
Did it take you a while to learn?
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Oh, yeah. I’m still not the greatest at it, but I’m better than I was, that’s for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
And you said you’re in dance?
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Yes.
Speaker 1 (01:57):
What kind of dance?
Speaker 3 (01:58):
All sorts, but right now I’m mostly just focusing on getting back on point after my injury.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
What was your injury?
Speaker 3 (02:04):
It was an ankle break or fracture.
Speaker 1 (02:09):
Thank you, Charli. We hope you enjoyed learning about the different activities that Charli Sobieralski participates in. For EagleAir Radio, this is Caroline Hoesch
Speaker 2 (02:22):
And Emma Patterson. Thanks for tuning in.
