Nixa Journalism and Wingspan Advertising Sales

Promote the benefits of your business with Nixa High School students and stakeholders by advertising in Wingspan, Nixa’s student-produced news magazine. Wingspan is a nationally acclaimed publication. It has won a George H. Gallup Award from Quill & Scroll Honor Society, among other awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association and the Missouri Interscholastic Press Association. Wingspan is distributed quarterly to Nixa High School students, ages 14-18, and school stakeholders. Wingspan and its companion website, NixaJournalism.net, covers stories about the high school, the Nixa community, as well as regional and national topics. Nixa’s 1,900 students and their parents are forward-thinking consumers who are the ideal market for your business. By advertising in Wingspan, you are reaching a larger audience at a lower cost than most newspapers. 

Wingspan publishes four editions per school year. The fall and spring editions have a circulation of 1,000, which are distributed to students, faculty and staff. The fall edition is distributed to the school and inserted into the Christian County Headliner, which has a circulation of approximately 2,800. This means you will be reaching both students and members of the Christian County community by advertising in Wingspan. In addition to the print magazine, you can also reach a worldwide audience by advertising on the Nixa Journalism website, NixaJournalism.net. You may also purchase a sponsorship in Wingspan.

WINGSPAN PRINT ADVERTISEMENTS: The magazine is printed in full color on glossy paper four times per school year. The first quarter (fall)  issue is inserted into the Christian County Headliner, which is mailed to Nixa subscribers and available for sale in various Christian County locations, with a community circulation of approximately 2,800. All issues are available free to Nixa High School students, staff and faculty.

Full page ad, printed in one issue: Full page, 8.5 inches wide x 11 inches high (including bleed area). $250.00 per issue

Full page ad, printed in all issues: Full page, 8.5 inches wide x 11 inches high (including bleed area). $800.00 for all four issues 

Half page ad, printed in one issue: 8 inches wide x 5.5 inches tall. $125.00 per issue

Half page, printed in all issues: 8 inches wide x 5.5 inches tall.  $400.00 for all four issues. 

Quarter page ad, printed in one issue:  4 inches wide x 5 inches tall.  $70.00 per issue

Quarter page ad, printed in all issues: 4 inches wide x 5 inches tall. $200.00 for a minimum of four issues. 

Eighth page (business card size), printed in one issue: 4 inches wide x 2 inches tall. $35.00 per issue

Insert — Provide your own printed page to be inserted into the Wingspan: Up to one page in size, inserted into copies of Wingspan distributed to the Nixa High School student population only (not available for insertion into Christian County Headliner). $50 per issue. This price does not include the price of printing the ad. Clients should provide inserts by deadline or arrange for Wingspan staff to provide printing for inserts. 

Add an online advertisement to any print ad for an additional cost of $50.00 per ad. Each ad is displayed on the Nixa Journalism web page for one quarter.
