Band, theater and choir students said goodbye to decades of memories and music in the old performing arts center. They moved to their temporary home on the third floor of Nixa High School during the week before winter break.Choir students rehearsed in the room for the last time before their concert. Some students, like Gaige Longley (9), can’t wait for the future.
“I can’t wait for this year to be over so I can go to summer break and see the new choir room,” Longley said.
The Wind Ensemble played the last notes in the band room before their performance at the concert. Jayden Cantrell (11) was a member of the Wind Ensemble, and got to be a part of that moment.
“It felt like we were making history,” Cantrell said.
