Nixa’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes club is a way for students to get closer to each other and with God. They meet weekly and sometimes even feature guest speakers.
Cross Country and Track Coach Lance Brumley took over the club in 1999.
“I have found a deeper relationship with Christ and with the students since joining FCA,” Brumley said. “I can see that the presence of our group is making a big impact around the school.”
While Brumley is the sponsor of the club, it is mostly the students who run the show. Freshman Cross Country and Track Runner Gage Holmes is a usual attendee of the meetings.
“It’s a great way to learn more about your faith,” Holmes said. “I feel more relaxed and assured of my future.”
While it is called FCA, any student — athlete or not — is welcome to join.
“I would want anybody who was questioning their faith or having struggles in their life to join,” Holmes said.
Meetings are at 7:05 in Brumley’s room (263), every Wednesday morning.
